International Harvester M1 Garand Collector Grade 4602732 

M1 Garand manufactured by the International Harvester Corporation. This rifle is a collector grade, and is in excellent condition. The receiver is serial number 4602732 and is an IHC/IHC postage stamp. 

Barrel side markings are: 

P  LMR_● D6535448   2  54  A29   P    M

The throat erosion gauges 2+, and the muzzle 1+ with a mirror bore.

Metal finish is 98% with very slight wear in the normal contact areas on the bolt, op rod and trigger housing parts. Trigger guard bow has some wear on the edges, and sling swivel and stacking swivel both have some wear, all of which appears to have been from rubbing against something in storage.

Operating rod is D-6535382IHC, bolt is D6528287 IHC with a A5 heat lot.

Clip latch, op rod catch, follower, follower arm and bullet guide are all typical early IHC without letter codes.

Trigger group is IHC D6528290, C-5546008IHC hammer. Hammer spring plunger has no guide wings and rounded sides. Pins have centered punch marks on heads.

Elevation pinion is NHC, windage knob is IHC/DRC. Front sight appears to be IHC with wide wings.  Gas cylinder and lock are IHC, lock screw is NHC IHC 

Stock is a very nice IHC with 2244B in the barrel channel. Stock does not have any Overton/IHC repair patches. ½” DAS and san-serif firing proof. Handguards are matching IHC. Stock has minor handling marks throughout, and has several scuff from another rifle’s rear sight on the right side near the ferrule.

This rifle is not one of the Turkish Navy returns, and is part of a small quantity CMP has acquired through various channels over the years. 

This is a very nice example of an International Harvester M1 rifle. Finding a nicer example would be nearly impossible, and this rifle would make an outstanding addition to any collection. Please see all pictures for details before bidding.
