WRA WIN-13 Presentation Rifle 1611161
M1 Rifle manufactured by Winchester Repeating Arms. This rifle is serial number 1611161 manufactured in March of 1945. This serial number is noteworthy because it is a palindrome, reading the same forwards and backwards.
This M1 was converted to a drill rifle by the DoD, and was refinished by CMP and fitted with a new stock set. WRA parts were used wherever practical, however, the parts may not be serviceable on a firing M1. Barrel is correct and probably original to the receiver, but was completely ruined by the drill rifle conversion process.
This rifle would make an interesting addition to any collection because of the serial number, or an excellent non-firing display piece. Please see all pictures for details and parts ID before bidding.
Note: Since this rifle has not been demilled to BATFE standards, it is still considered a firearm, and the purchaser is subject to all laws governing the purchase and ownership of an M1 Garand.
