M1D Sniper Rifle WRA WIN-13 1614474
M1D Sniper rifle built on a Winchester Repeating Arms receiver. This receiver is serial number 1614474, which was manufactured in April of 1945.This rifle is a service grade with the 6-52 SA M1D barrel gauging 1 at the muzzle and 2 at the throat with a great bore.
M1D sniper rifles were built on receivers as the need arose, since the barrel is the only sniper specific part. All M1D rifles are a mix of parts as a result of this rebuild process, and this rifle is no exception. This rifle has the following parts:
6535382-SA op rod, 6528287-SA bolt with Z-2 heat lot, SA forged bullet guide, stamped long fork follower rod, rear stamped 8 follower, post war SA follower arm, op rod catch and clip latch.
-14 SA trigger housing, milled guard, -2 SA hammer, unmarked safety. Hammer spring plunger has no guide wings and flat sides.
Post war gas cylinder and front sight, high hump lock and P Ã lock screw. Lock screw has punch mark. T105E1 rear sight with DRC windage knob with S SH pinion.
Late ½” DAS HRA stock. No cheekpad screw holes in stock. Front handguard appears to be WW2 SA, and rear handguard is typical M1D. Stock and handguards are very dry.
This is a very nice example of an M1D sniper rifle built on an uncommon receiver, and would make an excellent addition to any collection. Please see all pictures for details before bidding.
