M1 Garand International Harvester Corp 5156828 Correct Grade
M1 Garand manufactured by the International Harvester Corporation. Rifle is in very good condition, and appears to retain all of its original parts. This rifle has a SA manufactured barrel that appears to be 100% original to the rifle, and several other IHCs have been observed in this serial number range with similar dated SA barrels. TE=2+,M1+ with a mirror bore. Receiver is an IHC/IHC postage stamp.
Barrel side markings are:
SA D6535448 2 53 A188A
Gas cylinder, gas cylinder lock and front sight are all IHC and have matching finish. Gas cylinder lock screw is NHC IHC Operating rod is a 6535382IHC, bolt is 6528287 IHC with an D17 heat lot. Bullet guide is IHC with star swage on accelerator tab, follower arm is typical IHC, op rod catch is H marked, G marked follower assembly and H marked clip latch.
Trigger housing is IHC D6528290, hammer is C-5546008IHC. Hammer spring plunger has no guide wings with rounded sides. IHC safety. Punch marked hammer and trigger pins.
Rear sight is a typical T105E1 type. Elevation pinion is IHC, windage knob is DRC IHC.
Stock and handguards are IHC, the stock has 0945 in the barrel channel and a ½” DAS on the left side under the rear sight. San Serif P firing proof centered in the pistol grip. This stock does not have the cheek cut repairs around the buttplate that are often seen on IHC stocks. There is some small scratches on the base of the pistol grip.
This is a very nice example of an early International Harvester US Rifle Caliber .30 M1 and would be a great addition to any collection. Please see all pictures for details before bidding.
