Remington 1903A4 Sniper Rifle 3410700
Remington 1903A4 Sniper rifle. The 1903A4 was the first rifle to be standardized by the US Army as a sniper rifle, and was the principle sniper rifle of the US Army during WW2. This is a fairly early example, complete with a matching 4 groove 3/43 barrel with a bright mirror bore. TE=1, M=0+. This particular rifle has been rebuilt, and all of its metal has been parkerized. This rifle is complete except for the telescope, and rings. The front base screw is also missing. This rifle was not restamped as an A4 during the rebuild process.
Bolt is an R marked 1903A4 bolt with swept handle to clear the scope’s ocular lens. Cutoff, safety, stacking swivel and front band are all R marked. Early Smith Corona 03A3 trigger guard. 1903 forged rear swivel.
Stock is a Keystone Scant Stock with the K in the cutoff slot. RA FJA inspectors stamps with ordnance wheel. Handguard is typical 03A3/03A4 and matches the stock finish. Typical 03A3/03A4 checkered stamped buttplate.
This is a nice example of a 1903A4 sniper rifle, one that would be a nice addition to any collection, or since it has been rebuilt, a great shooter for vintage sniper matches. Please see all pictures before bidding.
