M1D Sniper Rifle WRA WIN-13 1628128
M1D Sniper rifle built on a Winchester Repeating Arms receiver. Serial number 1628128 was manufactured in June of 1945, making it one of the last M1 rifles manufactured by WRA. This rifle is a service grade with the 1-52 SA M1D barrel gauging 0+ at the muzzle and 2+ at the throat with a great bore.
M1D sniper rifles were built on receivers as the need arose, since the barrel is the only sniper specific part. All M1D rifles are a mix of parts as a result of this rebuild process, and this rifle is no exception. This rifle has the following parts:
6535382-SA op rod, D28287-WRA bolt with step on lug, SA forged bullet guide, stamped long fork follower rod, SA 12 follower, WRA single bevel follower arm, post war SA op rod catch and WRA clip latch.
D28290-WRA trigger housing with small hole, SA milled guard, C46008-1WRA hammer, C46015-9 SA safety. Hammer spring plunger has guide wings.
Post war gas cylinder and front sight, high hump lock and O lock screw. T105E1 rear sight with DRC windage knob with WCE pinion.
Late ½” DAS HRA stock. No cheekpad screw holes in stock. Front handguard is new replacement, and rear handguard is typical M1D.
This is a very nice example of an M1D sniper rifle built on an uncommon receiver, and would make an excellent addition to any collection. Please see all pictures for details before bidding.
