M1 Garand International Harvester Corp 4638187 SA-IHC
M1 Garand manufactured by the International Harvester Corporation. Rifle is in very good condition, and was rebuilt by Springfield Armory in December of 1964. This rifle retains its original 6-53 LMR barrel, TE=2+,M2 with a mirror bore. Receiver is an SA/IHC Gap Letter.
Barrel side markings are:
LMR D6535448 6 53 A14
Gas cylinder and front sight are post war SA and have matching finish. Gas cylinder lock is WW2 SA with beveled front. Gas cylinder lock screw is P ∆. Operating rod is a 6535382 SA, bolt is -12 SA with RE5B heat lot. All small parts are late SA.
Trigger housing is D28290-WRA with a cloverleaf hole and modified pad, hammer is -3 SA. Hammer spring plunger has guide wings. HRA safety.
Rear sight is a typical T105E1 type. Elevation pinion is IHC Weatherhead, windage knob is DRC.
Stock is USGI birch with a Letterkenny triangle on the base of the grip. Plain P firing proof centered in the pistol grip. Handguards appear to be WW2 SA. WRA lower band with rounded corners.
This is a nice example of a hard to find variant of International Harvester US Rifle Caliber .30 M1 and would be a great addition to any collection. Please see all pictures for details before bidding.
