US Rifle, Cal .30, M1C 3718034 with Matching Base

Springfield Armory M1C Sniper rifle, serial number 3718034. Due to the mix of parts on this rifle, it has gone through at least one rebuild. This rifle is a service grade with the SA 4 45 barrel gauging 1 at the muzzle and 1+ at the throat.

 Gas cylinder is a SA post war wide base. Lock is late type with high hump, lock screw is P O poppet valve type.  Op rod is  6535382IHC.  Trigger group is a -12 SA with a -3 SA hammer and SA-11 safety. Hammer Spring Plunger has no guide wings and flat sides. Late SA milled trigger guard with no part number.

Follower is a 12 SA, bullet guide is HRA. Op rod catch and follower arm are SA. Follower rod is a long fork riveted. Bolt is -19SA with a B-18 heat lot. Type 2 lockbar rear sight, all parts are SA.

 Stock appears to be post war with a plain P rebuild proof and X0 stamped in the base of the pistol grip. HRA front handguard, post war SA rear handguard

Metal finish has some wear from use and handling marks throughout but has good dark color, and is probably refinished. Scope base is numbered and the numbers match the rifle.  

No scope, rings, mount, cheekpiece or flash suppressor is included. 

This is a nice example of a rebuilt M1C sniper rifle, and would make a nice addition to any collection. Please see all pictures for details before bidding.
