Springfield Armory M1903 Rifle 147263
Model 1903 rifle manufactured by Springfield Armory. Serial number 147263 makes this a 1906 production rifle.
This rifle has an SA 6-06 barrel, TE=3 M=2 with a bright bore. The barrel and action have heavy finish wear, but appear to be original finish. Straight handle bolt with an S on the underside of the safety lug. Stock is a grasping groove type with no visible stamps, and one recoil bolt. Fine checkered buttplate. Rear sight has a volley notch and polished scales. High hump handguard with fixturing slot.
This is a nice example of an early M1903 Rifle. Please see all pictures for details before bidding.
Note that this rifle is a low serial number, and as such CMP does not recommend firing this rifle. It is being sold for collector value only.
