DESCRIPTION

M1 Garand SA 4 Digit 8898 RRAD Rebuild

Springfield Armory M1 Garand. Serial number 8898 indicates March of 1939 receiver production. This rifle went through a Red River Army Depot rebuild in December of 1963 and appears to have seen very little use afterwards. SA 10-63 barrel gauges TE1+ M0+.

7790722 RA NM op rod, -12SA bolt with W9B heat lot, -8 SA trigger housing, 5546008 HR C M14 Hammer, -9 SA safety.

Gas cylinder appears to be HRA, P o lock screw, WW2 bevel front lock.

Stock appears to be a sanded HRA with no visible stamps, front handguard is late SA, rear appears to be IHC. T105E1 rear sight with BME windage knob, WCE pinion.

This is a nice example of USGI rebuild of a 4 digit SA, and would make a nice addition to any collection. Please see all pictures for details before bidding.
