M1 Garand SA WWII Correct 3517998
M1 Garand manufactured by Springfield Armory. This rifle was manufactured in February of 1945. This rifle appears to be 100% original and correct, and is in exceptional condition. Rifle was apparently issued, since there is a set of numbers on the the stock, but was hardly used. Barrel side markings are 1-SA-2-45, TE=1+ M=1+. This rifle is as it came to CMP from the DoD.
Gas Cylinder has a single punch mark on bottom of bayonet lug, and a letter K on top of rear ring. Gas Cylinder Lock is chamfered and lock screw is a P ∆ ∆.
Bolt is a -19 SA bolt with A-7 heat lot. Op rod is a flat side unmodified -9.
Rear sight is a type 3 lockbar with unmolested staking. Follower is marked 12, no bevel follower arm, stamped no notch bullet guide. Square front clip latch. -18 SA trigger housing with -9 hammer, stamped trigger guard with milled hook, hammer spring plunger has no guide wings and flat sides. SA-11 Safety.
The stock on this rifle is a very nice example of an SA/GAW stock, with a clear ordnance wheel and P proof. Handguards are WWII SA and match the stock finish.
The GAW inspectors stamp on the stock is atypical for a gun in this serial number range, however it has been documented by several researchers that GAW stamped stocks were used well into the NFR period due to a possible lapse in getting new stamps after Col. George Woody’s sudden illness. The stock on this rifle appears to be 100% original to the rifle.
This rifle would be an outstanding addition to any collection. Please see all pictures for details before bidding.
