M1D Sniper Rifle WRA WIN-13 1625076
M1D Sniper rifle built on a Winchester Repeating Arms receiver. Serial number 1625076 was manufactured in May of 1945, making it one of the last M1 rifles manufactured by WRA. This rifle is a service grade with the 2-52 SA M1D barrel gauging 0+ at the muzzle and 3 at the throat with a great bore.
M1D sniper rifles were built on receivers as the need arose, since the barrel is the only sniper specific part. All M1D rifles are a mix of parts as a result of this rebuild process, and this rifle is no exception. This rifle has the following parts:
6535382-SA op rod, D28287-12SA bolt with S-06◊ heat lot, SA post war bullet guide, stamped long fork follower rod, SA post war follower, WRA single bevel follower arm, early type op rod catch and SA post war clip latch.
D28290-14-SA trigger housing, stamped guard with stamped hook, -5 SA hammer, SA-11 safety. Hammer spring plunger has guide wings.
Post war gas cylinder and front sight, high hump lock and HRA O lock screw. T105E1 rear sight with DRC windage knob with SSH pinion.
3/8” DAS HRA stock. No cheekpad screw holes in stock. Front handguard appears to be post war SA and rear handguard is typical M1D. All wood is very dry.
This is a very nice example of an M1D sniper rifle built on an uncommon receiver, and would make an excellent addition to any collection. Please see all pictures for details before bidding.
