M1 Rifle manufactured by Winchester Repeating Arms. This rifle is serial number 164198 manufactured in May of 1942.
This M1 was converted to a drill rifle by the DoD, and was refinished by CMP and fitted with a new stock set. The parts may not be serviceable on a firing M1. Winchester Barrel was completely ruined by the drill rifle conversion process.
This rifle would make an interesting addition to any collection because of the serial number, or an excellent non-firing display piece. Please see all pictures for details and parts ID before bidding.
Note: Since this rifle has not been demilled to BATFE standards, it is still considered a firearm, and the purchaser is subject to all laws governing the purchase and ownership of an M1 Garand.
