This is a service grade Model 1903 rifle Springfield Armory 27931.
The barrel of this rifle is a Springfield barrel dated 6-09. The bore is in fair condition with some to little rust and/or pitting; it is a 4-grooved barrel. The wood of this rifle is GI with dings, scratches, scrapes, and/or gouges. There is a stamping of "F" underneath the on/off switch on the stock. The proof marking is moderately faint, but can be seen behind the trigger housing, and there is an additional stamp of "S" on the front end of the stock. The bayonet lug is stamped with an "H." Stampings of "R" and "S" can be found on the safety switch and lower band, respectively. This rifle also has a grooved trigger and an "S" stock.
