This is a Remington Model 40-X. It is a target rifle with a heavy barrel. The serial number is 38995B. It fires the 7.62 NATO round. It has been drilled and tapped for scope and sight bases on the receiver and barrel. The front sight base is included. It has the matching serialized bolt. The receiver has a clip-shot. It has a walnut stock. The bolt release is missing. The rifle has about 95% shiny blue finish. The MW=0.5. The bore throat appears worn. The bore is dull. It has a special adjustable trigger. The slingstop is included.
