DESCRIPTION

This item is a RIA 16" Bayonet Model of 1905 (Dated 1906). Rock Island Arsenal produced Bayonets in the first production period from 1906 to 1922. RIA did not stamp serial numbers on the 1906 bayonets. That was started in 1907. This Bayonet has a M3 style Scabbard. The bayonet has wood grips with N Z 5392 marked in them. 0344 is marked on the guard. R.I.A. Ordnance Shell and Flame over 1906. in the Ricasso. US is on the other side. The True Edge of the blade has a knick and the tip of the spear point appears to have been broken off and attemped to be repaired. This bayonet has some grease.
