Springfield Model 1903 s/n: 625618
Drilled for Warner & Swazey Musket sight. Holes plugged. SA barrel dated 1-16. The Muzzle gauges at 2+. The Throat gauges at 4. The bore of this rifle is dark. Straight handle bolt with headspace okay on field gauge. Low wood single bolt stock, early hand guard with sight groove and clips. Wood has many dings and scratches and is oil soaked. Almost all WWI rifles fitted with telescope were recalled in the 19020’s, scopes removed, holes plugged and reissued as service as service rifles. (All information per tag).
