Springfield Service Grade Mark 1, Mod 1 Navy Match Rifle chambered in 7.62 mm.  Receiver is in excellent condition with its military finish and is bedded to the stock.  The barrel is an original 7.62mm manufacture.  The Bolt and Floor plate are inscribed 2554 and the stock is stamped 2554 matching these parts to the last 4 of the serial number.  The Gas Cylinder has had the NM modification., the top of the hammer and the bottom of the barrel are polished for smooth contact.  The handguards are bedded to the barrel and lower band.  The receiver was drilled to accept a spring and plunger for half minute windage adjustments, however, the spring and plunger are not available so the rear sight has a standard post WWII configuration.  All other parts are of mixed MFRs.
