This rifle is in overall excellent condition. Parts are from mixed manufacturers. Characteristics are as follows:
Stock and Handguards - All are poly coated to prevent moisture absorption. Bedded at the trigger assembly and the receiver contact points. Stamped 4677 and 3 / 71 indicating a probable conversion date of March 1971. The front handguard has been bonded and screwed to the lower band. The rear handguard has been trimmed in the rear to prevent barrel contact. Few dents or dings.
Receiver - Has an excellent military finish and is drilled on the right side for the AFPG windage knob spring and plunger which are present.
Barrel - Rock Island Arsenal dated June 1969. Has a bright bore and an excellent muzzle reading. Stamped 7.62 mm. Polished on the bottom where the Op-Rod makes contact. Knurled at lower band point.
Bolt - Inscribed 7.62 on top and 4677 on the underside. Polished at all contact points
Op-Rod - Polished where the barrel makes contact
Trigger Group - Hammer has been polished on the top and the hooks. The sear has been filed to a point on top and polished. The floorplate is inscribed 4677.
Sights - Front - SA stamped NM 062 - Rear - Windage knob has been converted to make adjustment of ½ MOA. The aperture is marked NM 595
Gas Cylinder - Tail is marked NM and has been trimmed horizontally at 45° angles to prevent contact with the front handguard. The Ring has been reamed to prevent barrel contact.
