This Rifle has NOT been test fired and is considered by CMP to be unsafe to shoot due to the use of a sleeve insert in the chamber to convert the rifle to 7.62 NATO.  This rifle is sold for collecting purposes only.  

Overall condition of the rifle is Good. Good military finish on metal parts throughout w/ some wear. Barrel is a .30-06 SA 5-54 that has been converted to 7.62x51mm using a chamber insert. 7.62 NATO has been stamped into the side of the barrel. Bore is bright and muzzle measures at an even 1. The throat reads at a 6 using a 7.62 throat gauge, but this is because the insert increases the freebore between the bullet and throat. The stock is a late replacement that shows considerable wear and some repairs.
