This rifle was converted  to 7.62mm ammunition at the US Navy’s CRANE small arms facility.  This rifle has not been test fired.

• It is a later conversion which used a new barrel and did not use a sleeve in the chamber.

• It is still in the wrappings that it was placed in after conversion circa 1969

• The wrapping were opened just enough to verify the serial number 

• The inner core of the wrappings contained a protective coating
