This rifle was converted to 7.62 NATO for the US Navy using a grooved insert pressed into the chamber of a .30-06 barrel. This rifle has not been test fired or otherwise worked by CMP.

• It is an early conversion which used a sleeve in the chamber and is therefore not considered safe to shoot and is sold for collecting purposes only

• It is still in the wrappings that it was placed in after conversion circa 1966

• The wrapping were opened just enough to verify the serial number 

• The inner core of the wrappings contained a protective coating
