This rifle was converted to fire 7.62x51mm ammunition at the US Navy’s CRANE small arms facility. A purpose built, 7.62x51mm SA barrel was installed. This rifle has not been test fired.

It is a later conversion which used a new barrel and did not use a sleeve in the chamber.

It is still in the wrappings that it was placed in after conversion circa 19**

The wrapping were opened just enough to verify the serial number
