This rifle is in overall good condition. This rifle is part of the first group of purpose made Gas Port M1 Garands, not a conversion from the Gas Trap. The receiver and barrel have a worn finish. The barrel has a bright bore, is the proper date for this receiver and has very good muzzle and throat readings. The Springfield Stock has an SA-GHS cartouche with the large Ordnance Wheel Escutcheon and has several dents and dings. Parts are all Springfield, and most are dated to at or near the time of manufacturer and most show similar wear to that of the receiver.
