Springfield Armory M1 Service Grade Dec 1941 429734
M1rifle built by Springfield Armory in December of 1941. Serial number 429734 was manufactured at the end of the month. This rifle is a service grade that retains its original 12-41 barrel with upside down date. Barrel is in very good condition, gauging 2+ at the muzzle and 3+ at the throat with a great bore.
This rifle appears to been through at least one update, and is not original as it left the factory. This rifle has the following parts:
6535382-IHC op rod, D28287-12 SA bolt with RE6B heat lot, SA WW2 stamped bullet guide, stamped long fork follower rod, SA 12 follower, all other small parts appear to be late SA.
D28290-8-SA trigger housing WRA milled guard, C46008-HR A hammer, unmarked safety. Hammer spring plunger has no guide wings and rounded sides.
Post war gas cylinder and front sight, WW2 beveled lock and HRA O lock screw. SA type 3 lockbar rear sight.
Late USGI Rebuild birch stock with p proof in square, handguards appear to be post war SA.
This is a nice example of a 12-41 SA service grade that still retains its original barrel. Please see all pictures for details before bidding.
