Consecutive SA M1 Service Grades 5422271 5422272
Pair of consecutively serial numbered Springfield Armory M1 Garands. These rifles are both service grades and are a mix of parts. Both rifles are mid to late 1954 production. Rifle number 5422271 is on top in all pictures.
Serial number 5722271 has a 10-64 SA barrel gauging TE=2 M=1+. Rifle is a very nice Letterkenny Army Depot rebuild with the typical birch stock with orange triangle on base of grip and LEAD 3-65 electropenciled on receiver leg. All metal parts have a light grey parkerized finish.
Serial number 5722272 has an SA 9/54 barrel gauging TE=2+ M=1+. Stock is from an earlier (pre 1947) Raritan Arsenal rebuild and has RA-P stamp on the pistol grip as well as small ordnance wheel. Finish is a dark grey Parkerizing with some freckling. Gas cylinder is a narrow base with saw cut and painted finish.
This is a rare chance to own consecutively serial numbered M1 Garands, and they would make an outstanding addition to any collection. Please see all pictures for details before bidding.
