This is an M1 Garand drill rifle SA 1821764.

It appears to have been converted to a drill rifle by the Air Force.

Markings: "Z" and "S" on bottom and "L" on side of receiver; Proof marking on stock.

Other Information: Flat lower band with hollow pin; Rounded clip latch; Front handguard has a large crack all the way through from the front to the back of it; Cut op-rod.

When this rifle was converted to a drill rifle, the gas cylinder lock and screw, bullet guide, follower, follower arm and rod, op-rod spring and catch, and the pin that holds the inner workings in were all removed. They are not included with this rifle.

The metal parts of this rifle are all fully chrome-plated.

The wood parts of this rifle appear to be GI with some dings, scratches, and scrapes and are all heavily lacquered.
