This is a modified Krag Springfield Arsenal 32339.
The bore of this rifle is in fair condition with some to little rust and/or pitting. It has okay headspacing, and a muzzle gauge of 0+. There is a stamp of "D" on the stock, "U" on the lower band, "3" on the rear sight base, and a stamp on the underside of the bolt handle. This rifle is missing a chunk from the stock by the bolt handle, firing pin, and probably other parts of the bolt too. The wood of this rifle appears to be GI wood with some dings, scratches, scrapes, and/or gouges, but there are no other cartouches or proof markings to verify that. The barrel of this rifle is 22" in length, fitting the carbine length of barrels, but this rifle has been modified to accomodate a newer front sight and longer stock than a carbine; it could also be a cut-down Krag rifle.
