This is a service grade Model 03-A3 rifle Remington 4001157.

The barrel of this rifle is a Remington barrel dated 9-43. The muzzle gauge is a 0+. It is in fair condition with some to little rust and/or pitting; it is a two-grooved barrel. The parts appear to be mostly Remington with stampings of "R" on the front sight base, upper band, stacking and front sling swivels, bolt handle, several of the bolt parts, and the on/off and safety switches. There are additional stamping of "A" on the front sight blade, "RP" on the rear sling swivel, and "7" in a square at the back of the bolt. The wood of this rifle is GI with some lacquer and is stamped "FJA" with possible remnants of the DOD marking beside it and a proof marking on the stock. The wood hase some dings, scratches, scrapes, and/or gouges, and there is a small chunk missing from the toe of the butt of the stock as well. This rifle still has approximately three-quarters of the original finish.
