This is an M1 Garand drill rifle SA 4254896.

This rifle was converted to a drill rifle by the Air Force.

Markings: Additional stamps on sides of receiver; Proof marking and stamped "RRAD" on stock; Stamped on bayonet lug; Stamped on gas cylinder screw.

The metal of this rifle has all been chrome-plated; the bolt is welded to the receiver at the breech.

The wood of this rifle is GI wood that has all been heavily lacquered, and the front handguard is cracked all the way through along with some other imperfections along the wood. The stock ferrule is also very loose and falls off the stock.

This rifle is not sold with the follower, follower arm, follower rod, op-rod catch, op-rod spring, bullet guide, or gas cylinder lock.

The safety of this rifle is broken and would need replacing.

This rifle has not been demilitarized to current standards. CMP doesn't condone the repairation of drill rifles, and that risk is fully assumed by the customer and gunsmith.
