This is an M1 Garand drill rifle HRA 4788446.
This rifle was converted to a drill rifle by the US Air Force. As part of the conversion, all of the metal has been chrome-plated, and all of the wood has been lacquered. The gas cylinder lock, follower, follower rod, follower arm, op-rod spring, op-rod catch, bullet guide, and pin were removed during this conversion and are not included with this rifle.

The bolt of this rifle has been welded to the receiver. Since this rifle hasn't been demilitarized to current standards, it is unsafe to repair and reuse. CMP does not condone the repairation of drill rifles to functional rifles, and that risk is fully assumed by the customer and gunsmith.
