This is a Model 1903 rifle with C-stock SA 1330600.
This rifle was drill and tapped for Neidner tapered scope blocks. The tap size is 6x40, not 6x48. Neidner blocks and rings were used on USMC sniper rifles from WWI through early WWII. This is the latest known serial number and barrel date observed to have been fitted for the Neidner blocks. The barrel of this rifle is an SA barrel with four grooves dated 3-38. The bore is in fair condition with some to little rust/pitting. The muzzle gauge is 1.5, and the throat gauge is 3. The wood of this rifle is GI wood with a moderate amount of imperfections. The handguard included with this rifle has not been cut for the Neidner barrel block. There is a faint "SA SPG" cartouche and two proof markings on the stock of this rifle. The butt plate of this rifle is NM. The bayonet lug is stamped "H," the bolt handle is stamped "N.B;" and the rear sight is stamped "5" on the base and "G" on back of the sight.
Sold as is.
