This is an M1 Garand drill rifle SA 3578289.
This rifle was not demilitarized to current industry standards and is neither considered safe to fire nor is it a functional rifle. CMP does not condone the repair of drill rifles into functional rifles again, and the risk is fully assumed by the gunsmith and customer.
The metal of this rifle is all chrome-plated.
The inner workings of this rifle are all rusted in place.
The barrel of this rifle is a faux barrel and is welded to the receiver.

Markings: DOD and proof markings on stock; Stamped "O" on gas cylinder screw; Stamped "CG" on receiver besides the drawing number.
Other Information: Early follower; SA lock-bar rear sight and parts.
The wood of this rifle is GI wood with some imperfections and has been heavily lacquered.
