DESCRIPTION

Springfield Model 1903 rifle 121427.

This rifle has an original barrel marked "S.A./6-06/A." This is a 1906 alteration rifle originally manufactured in .30-'03 caliber, but returned to Springfield Armory Circa 1909 and altered to .30-'06 caliber. Rifle has been overhauled and re-assembled from mixed parts. Unmarked 2-bolt grasping groove has been scraped. It has a repair beneath the buttplate tang. Early springfield straight handle bolt marked "s" beaneath safety lug. The muzzle gauges at 2+ and the throat gauges at 5. The bore is shiny and the headspace is okay. Rifle has "s" stock with finger groove.
