DESCRIPTION
Rock Island Model 1903 Serial Number - 6460
The receiver was made in Rock Island first year of production, 1905. The bold is also Rock Island production. The barrel is WWII replacement, a high standard mark up - HS 11-44. The trigger guard is a later production Rock Island. The rest of the parts are mixed vintage - Springfield rear sight, Remington safety, etc. All parts are milled. The floor place is stamped B. The muzzle gauges at 1. The throat gauges at 3. The stock has been sanded and no visible cartouche or proof mark remain. This rifle has an “S” stock. The stock has a crack on the waist. The serial number is marked in the stock.
