DESCRIPTION
1917 Remington Bayonet / With Scabbard
This Remington 1917 Bayonet was produced late 1917 from what we can tell from Blued area on the blade. The Scabbard is a 1918 fom Jewell. The Bayonet has 1917 and Remington on one side and Flaming Bomb Ordnance Shell, U.S., WWI Eagle Head inspectors mark, inspector #11 is under the eagle head, and Large X inspector mark with #3 under it to show it passed the Blade Bend Test.
The 1917 were used for the 1917 Rifle and for the trench shotguns. They were used in WWI through Vietnam.
This Scabbard and Bayonet has other marks that we did not know much about and marks that we can see that we are not sure if they are from factory or from Army.
