DESCRIPTION
1917 Remington Bayonet Without Scabbard
This Remington 1917 Bayonet was produced late 1917 from what we can tell from the blade. The Bayonet has 1913 and Remington on one side also #9 and #17 indicating the bayonet was made in September of 1917. On the right side the british inspection marks are crossed out and U S added underneath.
The 1917 bayonets were used for the 1917 Rifle and for the trench shotguns. They were used in WWI through Vietnam some all the way through the 1970s.
This Bayonet has other marks that we did not know much about and marks that we can see that we are not sure if they are from factory or from Army.
